PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This phase of the Cerrillos Road project is approximately 1/2 mile long and begins near Cielo Court and ends at Camino Carlos Rey. Improvements will continue those made from Airport Road to Cielo Court which include:

  • Storm drain
  • New roadway pavement
  • Sidewalks
  • Bike lanes
  • Bus land / right-turn auxiliary lanes
  • Median modifications
  • Landscaping
  • Bus stops

     Storm Drain:

  • 66” Storm drain will be placed near the center of Cerrillos Road at an approximate depth of 14’.
    Curb drop inlet to be constructed in the outside curb line.

     Roadway work:

  • Curb and gutter
  • Sidewalk
  • Three driving lanes in each direction
  • Left turn lanes at intersections
  • Bike lane
  • Auxiliary right turn lanes
  • Traffic signals
  • Street lighting
  • Permanent signing and striping

     Landscaping of medians and parkways:

  • New landscaping in the median and parkways with irrigation

     Traffic Controls:

  • Minimum of two lanes open in each direction
  • Please respect flag personnel and be alert for workers and heavy equipment near traffic lanes.
  • Left turns open through median construction marked by orange barrels.
     Business and Residential Access in Work Zone:
  • Business driveways and side streets open and accessible northbound and southbound
