Proposed Typical Section: The proposed typical section for the segment between St. Michael's Drive/Osage Avenue and St. Francis Drive consists of two 11' driving lanes in each direction and a 4' bike lane on each side. A 5' sidewalk will be provided on each side of Cerrillos Road, without landscaping. Landscaping will be provided in the 14' raised center median.

Lower Section
Airport Road to St. Michael's

Proposed Typical Section: The proposed typical section for the segment between Airport/Rodeo Road and St. Michael's Drive/Osage Avenue consists of three 11' driving lanes and a 10' access lane in each direction. The access lane is separated from the driving lane by a 5' bike lane on each side. A different textured or colored pavement will likely be used to delineate the access lanes. A 6' sidewalk will be provided on each side of Cerrillos Road with landscaping on both sides. Landscaping will also be provided in the 18' raised center median.

Storm Drain
The proposed drainage system for Cerrillos Road consists of curb drop inlets on either side of the road, which feed into a truck line running underneath the roadway. The system extends from the outfall into the Arroyo de Los Chamisos (near Vegas Verdes Drive) to St. Francis Drive at the end of the project. The size of the trunk line varies from approximately 36” to 72” diameter.
 
Access Policy

DRIVEWAYS
Direct access to Cerrillos Road only when adequate access to other roadway facilities is not available.

Number of driveways allowed to a single property frontage is limited to one unless the development on that property will generate daily traffic volumes that exceed an acceptable level of service for one driveway as determined by the City Traffic Engineer.

Minimum corner clearance of 50 feet required for driveway adjacent to an intersection.

Minimum spacing from property line is 20 feet unless driveway is shared with adjacent property.

 
MEDIANS
Median openings provided at public street intersections and signalized intersections. Minimum median openings spacing is 400 feet plus required left turn storage (Min. 100 feet), centerline of opening to centerline of opening.
